Now you see me!

The tracheostomy went well!!!
We waited nearly all day for it to happen and then it was done within an hour.
Before!

Thank you to Mr Peak the surgeon.

After!

Hello everybody. I am afraid you can see how jaundiced I am - my eyes will eventually recover.
I am really looking forward to sucking on my dummy lots now and giving my mummy and daddy a big smile. In this picture you can probably tell how much sedative and tranquiliser I have been given. I feel a bit stunned and my best friend is gone (the vent).

This is how they dress me for surgery. I have leg and arm warmers made from cotton wool and plasters - it is quite cold in theatre without my clothes on.

This is my profile..aren't I handsome?

The tracheostomy should enable the ventilator to be weaned a little easier. I will remain at Glenfield for now whilst the Doctors, Mummy and Daddy decide what to do next.

Love Theo xx
