Stenotrophomonas Maltophilia

Try saying that when you're drunk.

Theo has an infection in his trachey site and it needs to be destroyed/nuked/blasted away as his consultant advises it really wouldn't be sensible to leave it over the winter months, especially with the 'flu' malingering.

That's all sensible and ok BUT it has to be IV antibiotics which means a hospital admission for a week. Now he is older and has been home, I find it so much harder to leave him (and I found it incredibly hard to leave him when he was an inpatient) so we have another week of drama ahead.

You can find Theo and me in cubicle 6, ward 12, LRI children's hospital for the next 7 days.

Hope the stay has been okay and that you get him back home soon
