As most people know now, we had a bit of a rushed appointment to Great Ormond Street Hospital on Feb 1st, for a transplant assessment.
It was a draining day of tests and scary realities but the main news is that Theo is still doing well enough to not need to go on the list yet. We can all breathe a sigh of relief and feel delighted for now.
I would like friends and family to read a little about dilated and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, and heart transplantation before getting too excited about this as the consultant explained that it won't last forever as the general trend of Theo's heart function shows deterioration. We also need to be aware that the scarring on his heart affects the 'pacemaking' area so he could be prone to sudden death from irregular rhythms of the heart. yikes. we didn't know that. If he ever faints, it's hospital, pronto!
So a reprieve, relief and back to life as we know it for a while longer.

A reprieve is just what you need, although a miracle would be nice! Love to you all
